Acrylic On Canvas, Mounted On Wood Panel

Several people, including myself, can't help but see people swimming in this painting. Imagine figures, some contorting and some basking as they float down a purple and yellow river.

My abstract paintings are inspired by Rorschach tests and are part of an ongoing project to document the subjectivity of perception. Like cloud watching, people always see different images within these paintings. At times their visual projection is a shared experience, but mostly, we’re never looking at the exact same picture. The ongoing question is, what are the sources for people’s unique responses? I have come to include memory, mood and degree of imagination.
